Platform Engineer (remote Europe)
Spacelift is an infrastructure orchestration platform that manages your entire infrastructure lifecycle—provisioning, configuration, and governance. It integrates with all your infrastructure tooling (e.g., Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, Pulumi, Ansible) to provide a single integrated workflow so you can deliver secure, cost-effective, and resilient infrastructure quickly.
By automating deployment and configuration, providing developer self-service, golden paths with guardrails, and an OPA policy engine, Spacelift empowers businesses to accelerate developer velocity while maintaining control and governance over their infrastructure. Spacelift offers unrivalled support, no-nonsense pricing, and a range of deployment models to fit your specific needs.
Spacelift was founded in 2020 by Marcin Wyszynski, a long-time DevOps practitioner, and Pawel Hytry, a successful entrepreneur. In 2025, Spacelift raised a $51M Series C.
The Team
We work in product teams (8), a team lead, backend and frontend engineers, a UX/UI designer, and a product manager. To move fast and make better decisions, we work closely and pair up on problems and issues. We care about each other. We believe that having Engineers leading the projects and initiatives is the best solution, as our platform is very technical.
Build and own the platform that powers all of Spacelift - from CI/CD to observability to incident response
Improve our code delivery pipeline: reduce friction, tighten feedback loops, eliminate flakiness
Strengthen our SLOs and observability posture - give every team better signals
Sharpen our on-call experience by improving alert quality, response speed, and postmortem hygiene
Optimise platform cost and scaling behaviour across workloads and regions
Own developer experience internally: from local dev to debugging production
Keep learning about our problem space
You build it, you run it - you will also be part of the on-call rotation
About You
You have passion for building products, love for tech, and interest in the problem space (DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Developer Experience)
You have 4+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering, with hands-on experience owning production systems
You have worked in Go, or want to get good at it
You have built or maintained CI/CD pipelines, observability stacks, or developer-facing tooling
You have been on-call and improved it - not just responded to pages, but fixed root causes and leveled up the process
You have worked with an IaC tool - OpenTofu/Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation
You have excellent communication skills
How we work
We move fast. Continuous deployments multiple times a day, we use feature flags heavily (LaunchDarkly)
Ownership over our work and driving key product decisions
Working closely as a team, transparent communication, caring about our system, ourselves, and customers
Everything is an iteration and everything is an experiment
Cultivate space for innovation through an initiative called Moonshots, allowing developers to form ad-hoc groups to build interesting PoCs
We use the best dev tools that we can get our hands on, including AI coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor
